Post-hoc analysis of ANANKE which is part of the AstraZeneca global XALOC-1 real-world evidence programme for FASENRA. ANANKE is an Italian, multicentre, observational, retrospective cohort study, including patients with severe eosinophilic asthma who had started FASENRA as per clinical practice or within the Italian sampling programme. Patients were stratified according to atopic status. Atopy was defined by the presence of perennial allergen sensitisation demonstrated by skin prick test. Severe exacerbations are defined as worsening of asthma that led to one of the following: i) use of systemic corticosteroids for ≥3 days or a temporary increase in a stable background dosage of OCS; ii) an emergency department or urgent care visit (<24 h) due to asthma that required systemic corticosteroids; or iii) admission to hospital (≥24 h) due to asthma. AER, annualised exacerbation rate; OCS, oral corticosteroid.
