Een klinisch significante verbetering* werd waargenomen bij 58,2% van de patiënten in week 1 na de eerste dosis benralizumab. De verbetering nam verder toe tussen week 1 en week 8.

Op basis van deze studie kunnen we concluderen dat dankzij het unieke werkingsmechanisme van benralizumab, i.e. de bijna volledige en snelle depletie van eosinofielen bij ernstig eosinofiel astma, kon een belangrijke verbetering van de astmacontrole worden aangetoond, reeds 1 week na de initiatie van benralizumab.
